MURDERING THE COQUETTE

Silly giggling little girl
effervescing coy magnet
who woos unintentionally
plays incessantly
and always self destructs
in getting her own way.

We cut her in pieces
mailed her home to daddy
a bloody mess in a trunk,
the curls pulled from
her empty dimpled head,
the ruffled dress in shreds
the giggle, always giggling
refusing to be a woman or herself,
at last quite finally quiet.
