70spoems/cowards*

All men are cowards
always afraid of
castration. They
bind your hands
to be sure. Your
movements too quick
conjure old visions
of gleaming silver
in mama’s skirts.

All men are cowards
like frightened
boys they jiggle
in public. Hold
themselves when
they’re scared.

And you, you
threatening rejecting
bitch they cry
and wipe their
snot on your
shoulder.
