2000/2nsqtr/4th

I look forward
to being out of town
for the 4th of July,
so I won’t know no one
calls or comes by,
so I won’t have to look
at the way we are all
that became of our life.
There is nothing I want
back that I’ve lost,
I’m just surprised
at how it turned out.
Although I know
this is a place
I am passing through,
the way the Gaviota Tunnel
means you are leaving
Southern California
at last.
