Sarai Austin

2001
2001, February
2001, April – June

2001/facedown

Up before 5 a.m.
which means
by two o’clock
I will be face down
in my soup.
You remind me
of the narcoleptic
in the movie
who feared dining
out,
that she would drown
in hers.
I bear it in mind
when I’m deciding
what to cook.
